What ExpandImage.org is for
ExpandImage.org is a focused set of tools for adapting images to a different frame or layout. The main tool expands a scene with AI. The supporting tools resize pixel dimensions, crop an existing composition, or add transparent and solid-color canvas space.
A photo that fits one layout may not fit another. A portrait may need a wider frame for a website header; a product image may need consistent margins; an illustration may need exact dimensions for a document. Each tool addresses a different part of that work, with its own controls and output.
Four tools, four different operations
- AI image expansion creates a plausible continuation outside the original borders. It uses a third-party AI image provider and the selected direction, ratio, and expansion amount.
- Resize Image changes the pixel dimensions of the existing picture. It can lock the source ratio, but does not create detail or background.
- Crop Image removes parts of a source to reach a chosen frame. Position controls select which available area to retain.
- Expand Image Canvas adds a known margin around the source, using transparency or a solid color rather than generated scenery.
These tools share a simple upload-and-download approach. Their purpose is to help with the image in front of you, rather than require a complex editing project.
Where image processing happens
Resize, crop, and canvas-padding operations happen in your current browser tab. Those tools do not upload the source image for processing.
AI expansion has a different data flow. Your browser prepares the canvas and mask. The source file and prepared data are submitted to our server for validation; the prepared image and mask are then sent to the configured third-party provider for generation. Read the Privacy Policy before choosing to submit an image.
How to use the site responsibly
Use images you own or have permission to edit. Inspect AI output before publishing: generated regions can contain seams, repeated objects, altered details, or unrealistic content. AI expansion cannot recover the exact scene that existed outside a crop.
Static examples are labeled as demonstrations. They illustrate framing and do not establish that a particular upload will produce the same quality. We do not use sample files as substitutes for real generation results.
Learn before choosing an operation
The image expansion guide walks through direction, aspect ratio, expansion amount, and result review. You can also open the resize, crop, or canvas tool directly when generation is unnecessary. The Terms of Use explain output limitations and acceptable use.
